and Steve Brown is a combination of historian (PhD, University of Oklahoma, 1981); disability studies professor (retired); author, 
Co-Founder,of the Institute on Disability Culture (www.instituteondisabilityculture.org/). He is a guide and energy practitioner of the technique called ReConnective Therapy (www.healinglightworkers.com/reconnective-therapy.html).

 Steve has published many articles about disability rights and is a national and international speaker. His books include Movie Stars and Sensuous Scars: Essays on the Journey from Disability Shame to Disability Pride (2003); Surprised to be Standing: A Spiritual Journey (2011); and Ed Roberts: Wheelchair Genius (2015), a Middle Grade biography of the late 20th century disability rights pioneer. 
 
 Steve's work and passions, including his energy work, are driven by the Institute on Disability Culture mission/vision: “Promoting pride in the history, activities, and cultural identity of individuals with disabilities throughout the world.” This is combined with his desire to bring light and love to all he does.

Because Steve has had a long history with intense, chronic pain, he is especially drawn to work with those who experience pain and desire healing in their own lives.
